*CREED AND GLORIA PATRI                                                                No. 579

In Jesus true humanity was realized once for all.  Jesus lived among his own people and shared their needs, temptations, joys and sorrows.  He expressed the love of God in word and deed and became a brother to all kinds of sinful people.  His life and teachings brought him into conflict with his people and many rejected him.  In giving himself freely for them he took upon himself the judgment under which all people stand convicted.  God raise him from the dead, vindicating him as Messiah and Lord.  The victim of sin became victor, and won the victory over sin and death for all.  The risen Christ is the savior for all.  Those joined to him by faith are set right with God and commissioned to server as his reconciling community.

Take, eat, this is my body.  Drink ye all of it, this is my blood.  This do in remembrance of me.  How blest are we to whom these words are spoken And who by faith receive this priceless token.  His holy body, His blood for us here given He lives in us and claims us for His heaven.  Divine this love, it seeks the frail and lonely And bids them to the heavenly feast so boldly. With hungry hearts we come, oh blessed Savior; Refreshed we go, rejoicing in Thy favor. For as often as ye eat this bread And drink this cup Ye do show the Lord’s death till he come.  We raise our voices in praise and thanksgiving, Remembering and joyfully singing And waiting, yes waiting till He comes again.  Even so come to us, Jesus, Amen!
