PRAYER TIME BEFORE WORSHIP: O God, empty me of angry judgments, aching disappointments, and anxious trying; breathe into me something like quietness and confidence, that the lion and the lamb in me may lie down together and be led by a trust as straightforward as a little child. May I sense your presence and be surprised by a sudden joy rising in me now. In Jesus’ name. Amen

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: We will praise you, O Lord, and sing with joy;
Community: We will trust you and not be afraid;
Leader: The Lord is our strength, our salvation and song;
Community: Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name.
Leader: Sing to the Lord for God has done marvelous things;
Community: Let all the world know of God’s mighty acts in Jesus Christ.
*OPENING HYMN “Morning Has Broken” No. 469
*PRAYER OF PRAISE
Praise be to you, O Lord, for life and for our intense desire to life. Thank you for friends, who stake their claim in our hearts; for enemies who disturb our soul and challenge our ego. Thank you for those who risk being right rather than trying to be like; for whose who do something rather than talking about everything. Thank you, Lord for life, for life in Jesus Christ. Amen
*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE [verse 3 of the first hymn]
PRAYER OF CONFESSION [unison]
O Holy and Present God, whose Spirit moves quietly but surely, you know us, and you love us. Open us to your insistent grace. Release us from the fear of thinking some failure of ours can separate us from you. Release us from the illusions of independence; from being possessed by riches. Release us from the dark assumption that we are unloved by You. Forgive all our sin and enable us to reflect for the world your light and life.
[Moment of silent confession]

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: We know that neither life nor death, angels nor principalities, things seen
or unseen can keep your love in Jesus Christ away from us.
Community: In Christ, through Christ we are forgiven. Praise be to the Lord.

Feel free to attend either session in Fellowship Hall.
A NEW WOMEN’S BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP is forming, sponsored by Presbyterian Women. All women are welcome! Our first meeting will be held at Northmont on Saturday, June 30th at 8:45a. We will be discussing The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, a historical fiction novel which takes a look at a few of the Genesis stories from a woman’s perspective. If you are interested in this new opportunity, please contact Lisa Caswell at 412-367-3567 for more information.
HOSANNA INDUSTRIES EAST END BLITZ will be on June 26 and July 31 with the possibility of a weekend date in August.
