PRAYER BEFORE WORSHIP: Dear God, I need to see myself as you see me. My own vision is fragmented. I try to divide up my life and reject those parts of me I consider to be weak. I need to see myself as you see me. I forget you made me just as I am and you delight in your creation. Help me understand that I am a whole person made especially by you for your love. Amen.

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Great is the Lord. Let us praise Him.
Community: God’s praise, like His name, shall reach to the earth’s farthest
end.
Leader: God’s right hand is full of justice;
Community: God is a strong refuge in times of terror.
Leader: God is our God forevermore, our guide and friend. Let us praise Him.
*OPENING HYMN “Our God, Our Help in Ages Past” No. 210
*PRAYER OF CELEBRATION
O God, complete the work that you have begun in us. Awaken in us gratitude for life; love of your creation; joy in what is holy and human; and praise for you. Grant us prayer in our hearts; trust in your Word; songs for the journey and a sense of your Kingdom. Renew our faith, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE [verse 5 of the first hymn]
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Leader: True and living Word, you have called us to love the Lord;
Community: You have made peace between us by your cross.
Leader: Yet, Lord, we have kept grudges; put others down, and seen only
errors in others, not their gifts.
Community: Forgive our unwillingness to embrace your peace. Help us by
your Spirit to love each other as you love us.
-2-
Leader: Empower us to be peacemakers in a world where peace is thought
impossible and peacemakers are scorned.
[moment for silent confession]
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Glory be to the God of all peace, whose Son offers us forgiveness and
joy.
Community: Through the love shown us in Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
Thanks be to God.

THE INTERIM TEAM was formed by Session at the request of Dr. Ewing to work with him. The Interim Team is a review and recommendation group whose task it is to help the interim pastor identify plans and directions that need to be addressed during the interim time and suggest ways to meet those needs. The I-Team reports to Session.
In November 2006 work was begun to prepare for Northmont’s transition to an Interim Pastor and a ‘Transition Team’ was formed. The Transition Team accomplished their goals when Dr. Ewing was Called and the Team was dismissed with the grateful thanks of Session and congregation in April of this year.
The (new) Interim Team is comprised of Jerry Holman, Janet Hoegel, Lisa Baierl, Dick Spahr, Judith Shifrin, Larry Anderson, Carolyn Pearsall and Dr. Ewing.
