PRAYER BEFORE WORSHIP: O God of endings, you promised to be with me always, even to the end of time. I teeter on the brink of endings, some anticipated, some inevitable, some surprising, most painful. I will listen for your leading to help me faithfully move on through my time of letting go, so your timelessness may take hold of me. Amen.

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
REPORT FROM NEW WILMINGTON MISSIONARY CONFERENCE
MISSION MOMENT FOR BOOKS TO MALAWI Jean Drumheller
PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: The Lord’s voice resounds throughout the land;
Community: The hills and valleys echo God’s Word.
Leader: We are called from distractions and vain pursuits to worship and
service.
Community: We are called from our isolation and loneliness into His
presence.
Leader: Let us listen for God’s Word, let us be still and hear.
Community: Let us receive the Good News and be transformed. Let us
worship the God who is always present, calling us to new life.
*OPENING HYMN “Creator of Mountains” No. 2061
(Found in Sing the Faith)
*PRAYER OF CELEBRATION
Mighty God, we lift up our hearts and praise you for your love revealed in Jesus Christ. By His dying and rising again, we know that your love is strong enough to continue through the end of time. Take our lives, our work and our play time, the ordinary things of life and the special things, the sadness and joy we know and have known. Accept, we pray, our praise and thanksgiving as we offer our very selves to you in worship. Amen.
*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE [verse 5 of the first hymn]
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Leader: Gracious and merciful God, you have called us to love the Lord;
-2-
Community: Your cross is the bridge of reconciliation between you and all
people.
Leader: Yet, Lord, we turn from The Path; we become self-centered, seeing
only self, not others.
Community: Forgive our unwillingness to embrace you. Help us by your
Spirit to love each other as you love us.
Leader: Empower us to be active, vibrant and vital disciples in the world.
[moment for silent confession]
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Glory be to the God of all peace, who’s Son offers us forgiveness and
joy.
Community: Through the love shown us in Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
Thanks be to God.
