What Mission Priorities Do You Support?
Every congregation is commissioned by Christ to make disciples of all nations. Some congregations interpret this command as being only to feed the poor and the hungry regionally. Others are international in their mission focus. Still others are interested only in taking care of their own members and ignoring the surrounding community. Some view mission to be only social service work. Others view mission as a spiritual call to repentance in the name of Jesus Christ. Some view mission as the work of the presbytery and not the congregation. Others view mission as only being led by missionaries, primarily overseas.
Northmont’s sense of mission is local through the child development center and youth ministry, regional through North Hills Community Outreach, Anchorpoint, Northside Common Ministry, and international through our Malawi partnership, the Wellers in Ethiopia, and our mission family in Turkey.
Should Northmont expand its view of Christ’s mission? What more would you add?
